In lieu of the any towels to be had, I got myself a souvenir coffee mug yesterday (you know me and coffee mugs...):

The whole week was also dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness so they made a load of players sign this banner:

I got there in plenty of time. I figured I'd just get my seat in the Agora and read for a while. Turns out the junior boys final was happening.

It was adorable to see. One was even tinier than the ball-girls (he lost). Already there was plenty of fist-pumping, vamos-ing and some other choice language going on, which was a bit less adorable.
At the end they got some suitably tiny trophies and a GIANT TUBE OF NUTELLA each.

After that it was straight into the first final, Peya/Soares v Bryans.

I didn't think Peya/Soares could do it, but by god they proved me wrong. This was one hell of a final. Two TB sets and a super TB going into overtime. Both had MPs at some point or other. Well deserved for Peya and Soares.

This match had taken its time, so it was straight into the last match, Ferrer v Youzhny.

After Youzhny took the first set he went off the boil for a while and for a bit there it looked like Ferru just might make a comeback. Maybe Ferru was pressing a bit too hard, tho, cos he too was making all the errors and letting Youzhny get himself together again.
And I have to admit, it was 30C outside and the Agora was packed. With not having had any break I was getting pretty damn uncomfortable. My heart wanted Ferru to win, but the rest of my body wanted this over in 2 sets. Also I have nothing against Youzhny so I wasn't too sad he got to lift the trophy :)

Farewell Valencia!

The smallest baby was clearly pretty proud of his nutella as he wouldn't put it down!

(He is utterly precious, I can't believe he's only 6 months older than Mini /o\)

Am glad adorable wee Dani won the wheelchair final, and am mostly ignoring the other final, meh :(

I hope you got home OK, and thank you for sharing your travels with us! <3

Seriously, what are you supposed to do with that much Nutella???

I hope you got home OK, and thank you for sharing your travels with us! <3

Thank you <3
I got home in the end! Landing at Schiphol was decidedly bumpy. And then there was no train service at all from the airport due to the storm damage, so there was a lot of squeezing into overcrowded busses. I hope you weren't too affected by the weather where you are.

P.S. You think the juniors got a big jar? Check out Dani Caverzaschi's!

[For all the kerfuffle about unholy storms, it was...a bit rainy yesterday, and that's all. I'm glad you got home eventually! ;)]

I refuse to believe that's actually filled with Nutella! I mean, how are gonna fit that in your fridge?

(Now I got a craving for Nutella, damnit)
